The Physician’s Paperless Office interfaces with many billing
systems. Aside from improving accuracy, speeding the billing process, this
insures that your clinical charts support what was billed – a very important
attribute. This eliminates duplicate key entry and opportunities for error
because someone could not read the doctor’s writing. Billing records are
passed on a patient-by-patient basis when the doctor says they are ‘Done
With Patient’.

-
If a patient was ‘checked in’, they appear on this screen AND MUST GET
BILLED -- An ABSOLUTE CONTROL! This screen shows when the next appointment
should be made and disabled dates if applicable. If there is not an
electronic interface, a superbill is printed. This technique is also used
during the parallel implementation phase.
-
If Patient Education sheets or test order forms were generated, they have
printed at the discharge window for the patient to pick up as they leave. A
log is made in the chart for each item.
