From clinical screens, you can order tests which you set up. For in-office
tests, such as X-Rays, the system prints the flash card or supporting
documentation for the staff, and bills the appropriate codes as part of the
encounter. It then logs the test as part of the chart.
For external tests,
such as blood work or CAT scans, it prints the paperwork. When the test
comes back, the scanning software shows all of the outstanding tests for
that patient and, once selected, files the test in the patient chart as
‘un-read’ and emails notification to the doctor, nurse, or both in our
proprietary Clinical Mailbox system.
